BLMA Doctors In Training Members May 2025 Interview Preparation Session
On Wednesday 7 May 2025, we held our first dedicated Doctors in Training Event for the year, focusing on Interview Tips and Tricks.
We were grateful to 3-D Matrix‘s contribution towards the sponsoring the event and enjoyed a short presentation from Cameron Monroe about Purastat before the official event commenced.
Our junior doctor members were then treated to three excellent presentations from Dr Anthony Llewellyn (AdvanceMed – Career Doctors), Dr Janet Draper (BLMA Committee member and RANZCOG interview panellist) and Dr Ira van der Steenstraten (Vitae Wellbeing & Leadership) about interview coaching, the interviewer perspective, and how to mentally prepare for the pressure of interviews.
The final presentations were from Ben Brehaut and Kimberley Chee from our new partners Avant Mutual (our main sponsors for the event), about some of the multiple extra services Avant provide in addition to excellent medico-legal cover.
A big shout out to Dr Bruce Wang, one of our DiT Committee members, who was instrumental in the organisation of the event as well as doing a wonderful job as MC for the evening.
It was the first time we have held an event at the Rosalie Russell Conference & Education Centre at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, and we were very impressed with the facilities (once we found them after a bit of a seek and find mission from the carpark 
).
As always, it was a typical collegial BLMA event with lots of excellent feedback received from the attendees
